Weekend Fun

Hello, World.

I hope you’re enjoying your Sunday! I have an interview this afternoon for a position for next year, but until then I’m planning to do homework and relax. This weekend has been a major success so far! On Friday, I was on duty as a Resident Advisor, so my friend, Erica, and I got food and coffee and then I headed back to school to work. We tried a new local coffee shop, and then got Mexican food at this great little place downtown.
Rifle Paper Co phone case
I’m totally obsessed with my new, Spring-inspired phone case! It offers better protection to my phone than my previous case, and it is clear where there aren’t flowers, so you can see the gold color of my iPhone. It’s so perfect!
Mexican food
After coffee, Erica and I went to grab food. It was SO good. We eat far too much Chipotle, and it was nice to get good, authentic food for once. It was also lovely to sit down after a long week, and just talk and eat.
Saturday morning, my mom came from Chico to spend the night, and spend time with me. She’s seriously the best, and I was so happy to see her. I’m currently going through some changes, and I’m under a lot of pressure and stress, and I appreciated that she came down to help me enjoy the weekend and relax a bit.
Lettuce, Walnut Creek
When she arrived, I met her at her hotel, and then we drove into Walnut Creek to grab lunch at Lettuce. I always get the Napa salad because it is simply amazing.
J. Crew
Following lunch, we did a little spring shopping. After taking inventory of my closet, I realized almost all of my tops are either long-sleeved or sweaters. Not exactly ideal for Spring, especially in California. So, we went to Anthropologie, J. Crew, and then grabbed some new products at Sephora.

After a long day of shopping, we grabbed dinner at my mom’s hotel, and then we just lounged around and watched Sleepy Hallow and Criminal Minds. I don’t always stay with her, but I decided to this time because I wanted to get a lot of sleep and I couldn’t pass up having an entire Queen bed to myself.
Sunday Brunch
This morning we got brunch at the hotel, which was great. I really like the food at the hotel my parents stay at when they visit, it’s always so good. Brunch is by far my favorite meal.
Coffee Dates
To finish her visit, we went to grab Starbucks, so she would have a caffeinated beverage while on the road, and I wanted a latte to give me a little study boost. I was sad to leave my mom, but I will be heading home in roughly two weeks for Spring Break, so it was slightly easier to go. I always have the best time when I hangout with my mom, and I look forward to spending time with her this summer.

How is your Sunday going?

Truly,

Weekend Recap

Hello, World.

I had a really great, yet busy weekend! I feel a little ridiculous lately… a little scatterbrained. I don’t really have time to just mindlessly hangout, but this weekend I had some really great moments. And I was a little productive. I thought I’d share some photos and highlights from my weekend.

IMG_4511I saw pumpkins while running some errands on Friday, and I was so happy because it was one of the few signs of fall I’ve seen lately. I love pumpkins! I really want to buy one, but I’m scared it’ll rot…

IMG_4512 IMG_4514After running errands, my friend, Kate and I went to La Boulange to study, grab a bite to eat, and hangout for a bit. I had a latte (not chai, the real kind), and it was super good! I’m always a little scared of really strong coffee, but their latte wasn’t overpowering, just warm and delicious.

IMG_4519 IMG_4523For dinner on Friday night, my friends and I went to Roam burgers. They have gluten free buns, which is awesome! Their sweet potato fries are amazing. Also, I got a ginger lime soda, and it was literally one of the best sods I’ve ever had. I don’t drink soda on a super regular basis, but my oh my, it was such a treat!

IMG_4529 IMG_4550The rest of my weekend was dedicated to catching up on school work, writing a 5-page paper for my American legal theory class, and reading hundreds of pages of The Grapes of Wrath. It was a grand ol’ time…kind of. I’ve been so tired recently that by the time I have time to do work, I’m not super motivated. But alas, school work is getting completed and I’m doing well in my classes thank the Lord! Getting into a great law school is a major goal of mine, and I just keep reminding myself that I have to A’s if I want to get to my goal.

So there you have my weekend! I hope you had a great weekend, and Happy Monday!

Truly,
Callie leigh

Weekend Recap

Hello, World.

This weekend was a bit of a blur, but it was so great! Friday was my birthday, and Saturday morning I headed to the Bay to the see my best friend, Holly. We went shopping, then got dinner at Uncle Yu’s chinese, and finished the day with Cream. I got so many great fall items from J.Crew! I cannot wait for the fall! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started getting me excited for the season, but then when I went shopping this weekend and the stores had tons of fall pieces, I got SO ready. I love layering, I love boots, and I love a good sweater or flannel.

Anyway, this weekend was great. My parents and I stayed at our favorite hotel that is near my school, and then drove to meet Holly in her hometown (which is only about 40 minutes from school). I love this hotel, and I think I’m going to miss visiting it when my parents don’t stay there anymore after I graduate SMC. It’s seriously such a lovely hotel.

photo 5-1When we got back to the hotel after dinner, my parents and I got drinks and sat by the pool for a while. It was relaxing! Also, the weather was perfect. I’m excited to get back to the Bay instead of melting on a daily basis.

This morning my dad and I got breakfast at the hotel. It was delicious, and we had a really good talk. Unfortunately my mom didn’t make it to breakfast because she had a migraine. I had poached eggs, ham, and hash browns with fruit. So good!

Overall, I had a great weekend. I can’t believe summer is almost over, but in a way I feel ready to head back to school.

Truly,
