Fourth of July is coming soon! I feel like this holiday always sneaks up on me. I totally forget about it, and I in March I’ll think “this fourth of July I’ll remember to get an outfit for our celebration.” Then we’re at the end of June, and I have once again forgotten to get something. So, I’m here to share some easy Fourth of July outfits that could be replicated with things already in your closet! To get you in the spirit, here is a gif from Legally Blonde: Red, White and Blonde:
First up we have an off the shoulder red dress, which I think is perfect for the Fourth, but would also be perfect for any other summer day, so you’d be able to re-wear it to dinner or to the park! The pale blue sunglasses are a festive touch, which can also be re-worn. A navy cross-body and white converse are ideal for running around a parade or other local festivities.
For most people, the Fourth is spent on or very near a beach! So, I wanted to share three of my favorite swimsuits for this year. I love the old fashioned blue two piece, I think you really cant go wrong with it. I also think the old fashioned suits are so flattering (I mean, Marilyn Monroe wore this style, so obviously it works). I think swimsuits are great on their own, but sunglasses can add a little extra to an otherwise simple look.
swim 1, sunglass 1 | swim 2, sunglass 2 | top, bottoms, sunglass 3I love the off-the-should look, as you probably guessed by now. This cute gingham top with the bow detailing is perfect for backyard BBQs are dinner before fireworks, especially if you’re experiencing the heat wave on the west coast! I love the look of white ripped shorts, and I think they balance the preppy feel of the top! I am obsessed with slide sandals… It’s a little embarrassing, but I think they are just so chic, and I definitely love the red. I could also see the shoes worn with black skinny jeans and black for dinner out in the fall.
What are you wearing this Fourth of July and how are you celebrating?
I cannot believe it is almost February! To be honest I didn’t really even realize that the holidays were actually over until I went to CVS, and all the displays were changed to red and pink hearts, How to Train Your Dragon 2 valentines, and lots of Hersey’s kisses. Valentine’s Day is always a point of contention for people. It’s a very polarizing holiday since single people seem to boycott, and people in relationships get all too excited. Regardless of your stance, it is a holiday, so you should celebrate! I’ve compiled a few outfits suited for three types of celebrations, so I wanted to share them with you! I’ll probably be in jeans and some kind of blouse or pajamas, but hey, some people have big plans!
If you’re going to dinner and a movie (perhaps you’re in a new relationship), I suggest fitted jeans, a sultry little blouse, and fun pumps. This is still dressy enough to be romantic, but comfy enough to not be over the top. Movies that are coming out on V-Day? 50 Shades of Grey! It may be difficult to convince your guy to see it, but it may be a good choice for the day. ;)
For dinner at a nice restaurant, I suggest a cute little black dress, pink suede pumps, and a fun clutch. This is more formal, with a hint of romanticism, and has a sultry undertone. Simple, dainty gold jewelry is a perfect touch if you’re going to a nice dinner.
As for the singe ladies, a cute little dress, some pumps, and a simple clutch make for a great night out outfit. If you’re single, you can still have a great Valentine’s Day with the girls. Last Valentine’s Day, my friends and I went to the Vagina Monologues on campus, dinner, and then watched movies all night with WAY too much candy. It was basically the epitome of being single on V-Day, but it was still really fun.
I love the Fourth of July. I love patriotic events, and I enjoy dressing up in red, white, and blue. I’ve gone to a Fourth of July parade for years, and I just adore them. I used to love the pancake breakfast, but being gluten free makes the whole eating pancakes thing quite difficult. My family and I usually go to our cabin for the Fourth, and spend the morning at the parade, then hit the beach with our family friends, and end the day with a dinner and fireworks. It’s pretty relaxed compared to some Fourth of July traditions, but it a tradition I love and look forward to every year. I wanted to share some outfit ideas for different areas of Fourth of July!
