Today is the day! I’m sharing my final installment in my December Daily sharing. This album was so much fun to make, and I’m so happy that I finished the project. I was a little nervous because I don’t consider myself overly creative, but I had a great time with it, and can’t wait until next year. I considered buying some of the Ali Edwards kits that she still has in stock to use for next year, but I decided I’ll wait and see what she produces for next year. So, let’s get to it!
The 27th was a fun day. My mom and I went book shopping. I also took a photo of my mom’s Nativity set. It belonged to my grandmother, and it’s my favorite nativity scene.
On the 28th, I was trying to enjoy my last few days of break by reading Harry Potter 4, and cozying up on the couch with the book and a cup of coffee.
The 29th was cold, but so great!
On the 30th, I went to breakfast with my mom and dad, and it was delicious. On the back of the 4×6 image of our food, I put the 30 tag with a burlap bow. Behind the 4×6 image, I put a photo of my puppy sleeping all curled up in a blanket. Below, rather than another 4×6 I put a wooden tree.
On the 31st page, I put the 31 on the tree that was visible through the 4×6 photo sleeve. I also put the sparkly snowflake scrapbook paper, and a photo of my aunt and I on New Year’s Eve. On one of the final pages, I put a photo of my mom and I, then I used the A Beautiful Mess app to add the Happy New Year wording. I cut out the glass, and adhered it to the photo of my mom and I.
Behind my mom and I, i put the winter Starbucks sleeve they had in 2015. I drank a ton of drinks, but rather than save a red cup, I put a sleeve (haha). I also put the tag from one of the gifts my friend gave me. On the inside back cover I put “until next time…” See you soon 2016 December Daily.
I loved this project, and am so excited to share it. I plan to also share my sister’s December Daily album in a few weeks because we did the project together.
If you missed the rest of the album: WEEK 1 | WEEK 2 | WEEK 3 | WEEK 4
With Christmas on Wednesday, I thought I would do my final installment in the holiday gift buying post sequence. For those of you who need a few more stocking stuffers for your family and friends, I’ve composed a little list of easy-to-get items!
Hand Lotion to keep their hands soft, despite the cold // Slippers to keep their feet warm on Christmas morning // “Love” Bracelet to show you care // Socks to wear with slippers // A journal so they can remember everything // A cute phone case because why not? // Sharpie mugs to send a personal message // a portable iPhone charger // A 2014 Planner to help them keep organized in the new year
Enjoy your day! I know I will be spending today and tomorrow finalizing my gifts, and wrapping final little items for those I love.
Given that the holidays are coming up, I thought it would be fun to share some gift giving ideas for friends! I try to personalize all my gifts for my friends and family, but I know sometimes it’s hard to think of things to get, especially when people don’t want anything. I’m a HUGE giver. I love giving gifts. I like watching people open the gifts I give them, and see their reaction to the little cluster of treats I’ve gathered just for them. I actually like giving gifts more than I like receiving them, which I guess is weird to some people. Anyway, I perused Pinterest for a bit, and included some things I typically buy for people, and here is what I came up with:
1) Essie nail polished (typically $8.50)
2) Fancy candle (great scents at Bed, Bath, and Body; Urban Outfitters; Anthropologie, this one: $12)
3) Chunky circle scarves! (Cost Plus World Market has great scarves, all under $25)
4) A custom phone case (this one of the San Francisco skyline $25)
5) Watches (This one $34 from Urban Outfitters)
6) Jewelry that fits their personality! (Etsy has tons of quirky things like this for $10-$25)
7) Knee-high socks, they’re cozy, can be worn with boots, and add color to an outfit (These from Urban Outfitters, 2 for $22)
8) Monogrammed mugs! (These from Anthropologie, $8)
9) Coasters because they can be adorable (these a 4-coaster set from Anthropologie $32)
These are just a few ideas, but they can be great additions to whatever you want to get your friends. Hey, even a combination of a few of these items would be great! I hope you enjoy giving gifts as much as I do, and I hope you have a great time gift buying!
