As a stylish academic, I wanted to give you a glimpse into my academic life. I recently graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California, where I studied English and History. I now attend law school at The College of William and Mary. I adore a well organized planner, especially a color coded one. As a Type-A personality, and as a perfectionist, I enjoy turning imperfections into something bold. I like the personal touches in life and collect stationary! You can find me with a chai latte by day and a glass of white wine by night. I am a self-proclaimed french fry connoisseur, and I appreciate a healthy dose of sarcasm.

On the stylish front, I mix my west coast roots with east coast admiration. I describe my personal style as bohemian prep: casual California vibes balanced with a classic flare and a touch of gingham. I believe the best accessories are confidence and a great lipstick.

Intelligent, successful women are viewed as boring, drab and are often criticized for their appearance. We see the media rip on intelligent women for not being feminine enough or being too feminine. Well, I object. I believe women can love style and the feminine things just as much as we love academia or our professions! I created this blog to give a voice to those who love style and beauty, but are also strong academics or professionals pursuing their dreams. Let’s crash through this glass ceiling.

Bottled Creativity offers a balance of stylish academic posts. What does this mean, you ask? You will find posts ranging from the stylish (casual fashion, internship attire, law school style, college wear, etc.) to academic (how to do well in school, applying to law school, getting involved, writing papers, etc.) So, pour yourself a cup of coffee and I wish you happy reading. Please comment on posts you enjoy, I value your thoughts and feedback!

  3. Hi! This is definitely my kind of blog – anything about everything I guess! I am also an academic overachiever and prize myself on wanting to learn more. I am also very sarcastic sometimes and note to you, that nothing I say in this comment is meant to be sarcastic. You’ve got a great blog! You have a new follower!

If you want, you can check out my blog at whatiliketodobysteve.wordpress.com. I would love to have you check it out!
