Hello, World.
I’m currently in the process of re-reading the Harry Potter series. I know a lot of people I’m friends with re-read the series every few years, or even every holiday season, but I am usually against re-reading books. I always wind up thinking, “I could be using this time to read something new.” BUT, that being said, I am totally loving re-reading the Harry Potter series. It makes me feel young again, and I never realized how much I had forgotten that happens in the books, but not in the movies. I’m currently on The Goblet of Fire. I was hoping to get through the whole series over break, but seeing as I return to school Saturday, I don’t think that’s likely. So, I’m going to take the final three books back to school with me, since it’s Jan Term, and the work load is a little lighter, leaving more room for pleasure reading.
I’m loving remembering how much I loved the series when I was younger, and I feel like I’m really re-appreciating it. I also love Hermione. I have two major idols in the fiction world, and they are Hermione Granger and Rory Gilmore. She’s so studious, and I love it! Re-reading the series is so great, especially because I’m realizing how universally loved the series is. My sister, brother-in-law, and I are all pretty big fans so we’ve been talking about it a lot. I ordered us each a Quidditch sweatshirt, with each of our “houses” on it. I’m a Ravenclaw, Brie (my sister) is a Hufflepuff, and Greg, my brother-in-law is a Gryffindor. I’m excited to read the whole series all the way through. Honestly, I needed a little magic to revive my totally burnt out feelings at the end of the semester. Reading one of my most beloved series over again has really re-awoken my love of reading for reading’s sake!
What are you reading lately?
Truly,
