Today is my birthday! I turned twenty, but if you’ve been reading, you probably already knew that! I had a great birthday. Although it was pretty mellow as far as birthdays go, I still had an amazing day with my family. I’ve been going and going lately that it was nice to just spend time with the people I love. My mom woke me up this morning with the cutest collection of items! I felt so loved, and she was so excited to present me with a soy chai latte, a gluten free cookie, and a cute little birthday balloon.
My day consisted of a lunch at one of my favorite spots in Chico, T. Bar, shopping with my mom and sister, and dinner at my favorite nice restaurant with my parents, my sister, and her boyfriend. In attendance at the lunch were my sister, my cousin and her two adorable children, my two aunts, my other cousin, my mom and my sister. Lunch was pretty relaxed, but everyone had a good time just chatting and eating.
After lunch my sister, mom and I went shopping downtown and at World Market. I got an adorable globe for my dorm room, a pair of black skinny jeans, and my sister got my an adorable dress and blouse. Shopping was fun, I wish we had more time. The three of us don’t do a ton of shopping trips together (one of us are usually busy), so today was really nice. After shopping, I went home to get ready for our dinner reservation. Dinner was AMAZING.
The people at my dinner were my mom and dad, my sister, and my her boyfriend, Greg. The food was exceptional. Honestly, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I couldn’t get a photo of the salmon taquitos because they were gone in under five minutes, but they were amazing. Seriously, so much flavor!
I had the Rib-Eye with corn and jalapeno hushpuppies with fresh veggies. I cannot explain to you how delicious this meal was, so I’m hoping you’ll take my word for it. My mom and I both got the steak, as we usually choose the same dish!
My dad had the halibut. Looks ridiculously good, right?
Greg got the burger. He said it was the best burger he ever had. He said this to the owner, though, so I’m not sure if it was the total truth.
My sister got the lasagna, which was packed with veggies! It looked so mouth watering, but unfortunately I cannot eat this meal, though I envied every bite!
I had such a great birthday, and I got some really lovely gifts! The thing I enjoyed most today, though, was quality time with my family. I love them so much, and as excited as I am to head back to school, I know I’ll miss them so much! I better get to bed because I’m heading to the Bay in the morning to visit my best friend, Holly. We’re going shopping (shocker!), and having dinner. It’s our last big hangout before school starts…oh, and before she heads off on a European adventure to London! Anyway, I’m so excited to enter my twenties, and I had such a great day!
