Fourth of July Festivities

Hello, World.
The 4th of July has come and gone, and what do I have to remember it by? Half a German Chocolate Cake, lots of red, white, and blue, some partially alive flowers, empty beer cans, sand in my shoes, and some awkward tan lines. However, my Fourth of July was really relaxing, and I enjoyed spending time with my family. The funny thing about the Fourth is that everyone builds up all this hype for the day, but I usually enjoy the week of the Fourth just as much as the actual day, but that may be just because I turn the one-day event into a week long ordeal anyway!
For the past week, I’ve been at my family’s cabin, going to the beach everyday, reading, relaxing, and watching movies at night. I love being in the mountains because the air just seems nicer (cleaner maybe), and it’s not nearly as hot here as it is in Chico, which trust me, I am not a heat person by any means so I love the mountains! There are so many things I love about being here, and one of them is running into people! A lot of my friends from high school have cabins here, so I usually see them on the beach, and it’s nice to catch up with them! So, here’s my Fourth of July:
All packed and ready to head to the cabin! I got the beach bag at Barnes and Noble! It was only $10 with the purchase of any one item in the store (or $25 sold separately, kind of ridiculous, so I bought a book of course).
My family remodeled our cabin about 3 years ago, and I absolutely love it here. I feel like it has all of our own little quirks and a whole lot of love.
My mom bought me these flip flops four years ago, and I feel like they’re the epitome of the 4th of July! I just love them.
Fireworks on the beach! My family usually goes down to the Rec. Center at the lake to watch the fireworks, but this year we went to a lakefront cabin, and had a front row seat for the action! It was a beautiful show.
It was a little stormy at the cabin early in the week, so I relaxed at night with a classic and some Tazo Zen tea.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth, and that you enjoy the end of your weekend!
